System Description
The Hydrate Dynamic Triaxial Testing System is a high-precision experimental instrument dedicated to the study of mechanical properties and occurrence characteristics of natural gas hydrates. It can simulate deep-sea high-pressure environments and accurately measure the static and dynamic mechanical responses of hydrate-bearing sediments under complex stress conditions. The system adopts standard specimens of φ38×80 mm (custom sizes available), equipped with a high-precision 50 kN static loading mechanism and 2 Hz dynamic loading capacity. It supports confining pressure loading rates from 0.01 to 50 mm/min, and can apply confining pressure and pore pressure up to 20 MPa with an accuracy of 0.25% F.S. Mechanical parameters are monitored in real time via a 50 kN load cell with an accuracy of 0.1% F.S. The system innovatively integrates acoustic emission monitoring and electrical resistivity measurement functions, enabling synchronous acquisition of structural evolution and conductive property changes of hydrates during loading. This provides multi-dimensional experimental data for investigating hydrate decomposition kinetics and microstructure failure mechanisms.
This system is mainly used to study the strength characteristics, deformation laws and stability of sediments during hydrate exploitation. It is particularly suitable for analyzing the influence of hydrate dissociation on formation mechanical properties and assessing geological hazards induced by exploitation. It provides important experimental support for the safe and efficient development of natural gas hydrates, and is widely applied in fields including marine energy development, geological disaster prevention, geotechnical engineering and unconventional energy exploitation.
